What happens to the patient records of Medical Travellers?

SkyVault Medical History Systems
Here’s what you need to know:
  • Serious joint surgery patients require ongoing care after they return home
  • Unfortunately it’s rare for interstate or overseas doctors to collaborate or share patient records
  • Traditionally this responsibility is passed to the patient to manage their records
  • The quality of ongoing medical care is heavily compromised if critical information is missing

Another first for SkyGen in our industry – our SkyVault system ensures all of your medical records from before, during and after your overseas surgery are always available to you and your Australian or New Zealand doctor if and when they’re needed. This service is particularly important in the case of managing Deep Vein Thrombosis prevention, ongoing Physical Therapy, or in the minor chance there is post surgical complication once the patient returns home.

These can be accessed from anywhere in the world and are password protected on our secure Australian servers. This complimentary service is offered to all SkyGen patients starting 1 May 2015.

*Please read: Although the information provided on this page may describe a particular patient experience and/or outcome, readers must understand that each patient presents with a unique medical history and may be recommended a different treatment/surgery by their surgeon to that described above. Individual results may vary between surgery centre/hospital, surgeon, surgery type and patient. Although SkyGen agrees to share all updates from patients at their request, SkyGen does not endorse any physical activities attempted by patients following surgery which do not follow the explicit instructions provided by their surgeon. SkyGen encourages all patients to discuss the risks of such activities with medical professionals before attempting these themselves.
