Augusta Hospital (Hattingen) & Elisabeth Krankenhaus (Recklinghausen)
The spinal surgeons are based at the ONZ Spinal Centre and all surgeries are performed at the two large multidisciplinary hospitals adjacent to their offices. Depending on the needs of each patient, these spinal surgeries are performed at either the Augusta Hospital (Hattingen) or Elisabeth Krankenhaus (Recklinghausen). Of utmost importance to our patients, these hospitals are fully equipped with the highest quality supportive infrastructure including MRI, CT and Ultrasound units. The hospital contains separate neurology and urology departments, private ward rooms for each patient as well as a emergency department staffed 24/7. Additionally, all surgeries are supported by an on-site vascular surgeon.
Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy Centre
The MEDICOS Rehab Centre
All SkyGen patients recovering from spinal surgery will initiate their Physical Therapy within 24 hours of their procedure. The first 7 days will be done as a hospital in-patient and after discharge they will travel to the Courtyard Marriot, located right next to The MEDICOS Rehab Centre (pictured). This is the largest rehabilitation centre in Europe, and their philosophy is built around interaction between cardiologists, orthopaedic surgeons, psychiatrists, psychologists, sports scientists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists working towards getting patients back on their feet as soon as possible.
